Hesitate to say I’ve finished a project as I still have a braid and a half to go. But! I do have some yarn and I might even have plans for the yarn.

Not sure I have a favourite breed of wool to spin, tbh. I've enjoyed basically everything I've ever spun -- merino, shetland, Jacob, icelandic, romney, alpaca, etc. They all have their own charm. I once spun enough dog fur for my cousin to make a shawl as a memento of her childhood pet. And of course, linen is always a delight to work with. I'm very curious about spinning hemp, but I'm still working on finding a source for the unprocessed stalks.

I've been spinning since 2004 or 2005. I started with a drop spindle, and got my wheel at a local fiber festival not long after. I'd always wanted to learn how, ever since I was a toddler. But what finally pushed me over the edge was spending a ridiculous sum on some nice wool yarn as a vacation souvenir when I went to CA with my brother. (His mom had all these activities planned, but we found a yarn shop and the national spelling bee was on, so all we wanted to do was watch that in the hotel room and crochet, lol!)

I got my first spindle for $10 on ebay, bought my Kromski Prelude a little less than a year later (her name is Saoirse and I love her very much), and made my second spindle in 2010 or 2011. The spindle itself is hand carved (badly) and the whorl is wheel-thrown ceramic. It wobbles when it spins, but I love it anyway <3.

Long-draw drafting is really satisfying when it works well, but like. I just like spinning. Any technique is gonna be fun to me.

I'm a full-time artist with a specialty in textiles -- knitting, crochet, weaving, spinning, dyeing, bobbin lace, embroidery, etc. I'm always learning new stuff. Historical techniques are my strongest focus, but far from all I'm interested in. My main side-gig is music. I play flute, harp, and guitar, and I'm trying to get back into busking regularly because tbh I'm desperate for the income and I'm way too disabled to get a 'real job.'

The colour gradient is merino, the white is unlabeled mystery wool. It's around 15wpi, spun on my drop spindles. I want to do a skein of the same colour gradient plied with grey, and another plied with black or very dark grey, and knit them up into a shawl for myself.

7. It has been so long since I've had money to buy fiber. I lucked out a month or so back and found a whole alpaca fleece at a local crafting thrift shop, tho! Somewhere in my storage unit, I also have a bunch of alpaca fleece from my aunt's farm.

8. Green is my favourite colour in general, and always a delight to spin. But my favourite is probably undyed wools with natural variation in the colour, like the alpaca yarn I just finished knitting up into a shawl.

9. If neither money nor space were an issue, I'd love to have a reproduction 18th c flax wheel similar to the one I used at work when I was a living history interpreter.

uuh i dont know, before making that decision id like to travel all over the world and see everything earth can offer haha. however i really like north europe, i like the cold, the landscapes and well, everything lol. id really like to visit iceland someday!

…verycasual tbh? I wear very plain clothes, jeans, lots of wool. I love pullovers. Butalso flowery, maybe? I love flower patterns. Overall, yes, plain and soft,because I wear a lot of soft/pastel colors.
